the moon and all her stars
love knows no bounds in this wretched world. a cruel and unfortunate truth. as he lies awake in an empty room full of people, he looks for the moon.
she casts her glow into his mind but no source to be seen. she hides behind thick air and her light is still present. he wishes for a glimpse of the full-bodied moon.
the stars twinkle too but none compare to the moon. how could you compare such beauty to the stars? two different entities shall not be compared, but they both arrive visible at once. what difference does it make?
to him, the stars are alive and well. shining bright through the atmosphere for all to gaze. to the moon, she is surrounded by death. the stars have stopped burning and she can only look on.
she sees him and the timing is not the same. he sees her and knows it is only temporary. oh how they both wish it would last forever.
he talks to the moon while fully alone as she seems to provide comfort. she hears him but can only watch. she wants to speak but is afraid. what will the others think?
he cant imagine a life without her, but she can imagine a life without him. it is full of fear and regret. there are places where the moon is never present and she hopes he does not wander.
what can she do? the east is where she arrives and the west is where she shall go. he cannot stop her as she cannot stop him.
she rises in hopes to gaze upon him once more, but he does not return the favor. he no longer looks up for he knows she will always be there. he must only lift his head.
she stares downwards and sees how happy he is. once he distracts himself from the moon, he seemingly forgets her existence. she cant look away. the moon sees all.
the moon has never forgotten a face. she has looked upon many. what else is she to do when the stars are dead to her?
he sees them as alive. they all do. if the stars are with the moon, what is his purpose? he is of no use to her. she will keep rising and setting long after he is gone. he no longer looks at the moon.
she sees this happening slowly as his time has not caught up to her. she can only look on and shine brighter to be seen. she shapes herself how she should, but for him she would go against the astronomical rules altogether.
he has passed already. moved onto the next life. she does not know this yet and thinks she has more time. the moon can change his mind. the moon can bring his attention back to her. there must be a way.
the deed is done and the fate is sealed. all that is left for her to do is catch up. if the sun will implode, why cant she? there is no planet worth anything if he is not there.
the moon has revolved around him this whole time. people will come and go on the earth and she will stay spinning in hopes of his return.
